Support
The part of the equipment business that matters most
A tool decision is one day; the tool’s working life is a decade. Our services cover both ends — rigorous evaluation before the order, and dependable support long after acceptance.
Application assessment
A structured review of your process requirement before any platform discussion: structure, materials, acceptance criteria, throughput and facility constraints — documented so the manufacturer’s answer is precise.
- Structured application intake
- NDA-governed data exchange
- Feasibility framing with the manufacturer
Demo & sample coordination
Demonstrations designed as experiments, not theatre: written success metrics, agreed sample plans, cross-border sample logistics handled correctly, and results you can defend internally.
- Success metrics agreed in writing
- Sample, mask and logistics coordination
- Structured evaluation reports
Installation readiness
The gap between delivery and first good wafer is where projects slip. We coordinate facility checklists, utility requirements, safety review and acceptance planning before the crate arrives.
- Facility & utility checklists
- EHS and permit coordination
- FAT / SAT acceptance planning
Lifecycle support & parts
Training, maintenance planning, spare-parts coordination and process questions through the tool’s working life — with clear escalation to the manufacturer’s second-line support.
- Training and documentation
- Parts and maintenance coordination
- Escalation paths that work
Honest scope, in writing
Service coverage — response expectations, spare-parts arrangements and on-site capability — is defined per project and per region in the service agreement. We publish capabilities we can deliver, and we put commitments in contracts rather than in slogans.
Questions we are asked first
The practical ones, answered plainly.
Are you a manufacturer or a distributor?
Neither, exactly. RayFan Semi is an independent equipment and process partner: we do not build tools and we do not run a fab. We work between the device team and the manufacturers who build the equipment — translating a process requirement into a platform and configuration question, then supporting the tool through its working life. Manufacturer relationships are handled per project rather than published.
What do you need from us to start?
The device and application; the structure you need — target depth, critical dimension, aspect ratio, profile; substrate and mask materials; wafer size; the acceptance metrics that decide success; whether the tool is for R&D or production; and your timeline. If any of that is confidential, an NDA comes first.
Can you arrange a process demo on our own wafers?
Yes — and we recommend designing it as an experiment rather than a demonstration. Success metrics, sample plan, mask choice and report format are agreed in writing before any wafer is processed, so what you get back is evidence you can defend internally rather than a photograph.
How is confidential device information handled?
Under NDA, before any technical detail is exchanged. Where a layout cannot be shared at all, we work from an agreed proxy pattern that represents your critical geometries. Sensitive design data should never be sent through a general enquiry form — tell us an NDA is needed and we will start there.
Do you handle installation and long-term service?
Yes. Installation readiness — facility checklists, utility requirements, safety review, acceptance planning — is coordinated before the tool ships. After acceptance we coordinate training, maintenance planning, spare parts and process questions, with defined escalation to the manufacturer’s second-line support. Actual coverage terms are set per project and per region in the service agreement.
Which regions and languages do you cover?
Headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, serving Greater China and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Working languages are English, Mandarin — Traditional and Simplified — and Japanese.
